During the Easter and autumn holidays, students have the opportunity to spend a week exploring exciting projects in the fields of mathematics, science and technology. This is offered by the Gauß-AG, which is organised every year by the Leibniz School of Education at Leibniz Universität Hannover. The aim is to give participants an insight beyond the school day and to familiarise them with various specialist areas in a practical way: From mechanical engineering, computer science, civil engineering and geodesy to physics, maths and biology – the spectrum is broad.
We also took part again during the fall holidays and presented our robots to young researchers from years five to seven. After a theoretical introduction, it was of course time for some practical work: the pupils were able to compete against autonomous robots in a direct duel, compete in robot football and take a closer look at both the technology and the software of the robots. Fun and good humour were guaranteed!
Further information about the Gauß-AG can be found on the uniKIK school project pages!
