Partners & Collaborations
People we want to thank.
Besides financial support our partners provide us with workshop spaces and are helping us face challenges with their know-how. We want to thank all of our partners, without whom this project wouldn’t be possible.
Main partners
robospace gGmbH
The robospace gGmbH supports aspiring young adults and children from Lower Saxony with their schooling in the robotics field. The main emphasis is placed on pupils from the Region Hannover. The robospace gGmbH is the project owner of the Roberta RegioZentrum and therefore also of the robotics student team i-bots. The company is embedded deeply into the didactical infrastructure of the Region Hannover and offers us, besides their financial support, additional assistance in answering organizational and educational questions.

Sponsors
Georg Böttcher accompanies students in all career and financial matters. From securing your first own assets during your studies to starting your job and achieving your individual goals.
With his many years of experience and specialization in academics, Georg Böttcher serves as an independent contact person for all members in questions regarding career and financial planning. In addition to the special soft skills workshops for team members, you can find many more free workshops on the topics of career and finance during your studies on the website www.georg-boettcher.de
We would like to thank our sponsor, SKS Kontakttechnik GmbH, for their generous support. Thanks to their donation of high-quality laboratory measuring cables and the associated measuring technology from the renowned Hirschmann Test & Measurement brand, we can carry out effective and precise measurements of our electronics.
We are proud to have SKS Kontakttechnik, a leading specialist in connectors and contact systems, by our side, and we sincerely thank them for their valuable support.
Many thanks for sponsoring high-quality circuit boards on which new interested members were able to solder their first resistors, capacitors and LED lights at a workshop. The results are really impressive!
The Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) actively supported us in the production of new hubs for our wheels using SLS printing. In selective laser sintering, very fine metal powder (in our case titanium) is applied layer by layer and melted using a focussed laser. This makes it possible to produce geometries that would be very difficult or impossible to produce using conventional manufacturing processes. In addition, components subject to high mechanical stress can be topologically optimised.
As an interface between research and industry, the LZH has always provided us with optimal support and advice during the projects!
Thanks to generous discounts on their range of motors, we have now installed first-class dribbler motors from maxon in our robots, which enable us to guide the ball quickly and precisely.
For our next generation of robots, we want to rely on maxon’s high-quality motors and drive systems for the entire drive of the robot!
To finalise our robots for the RoboCup 2024, we still needed a few small electronic parts of all kinds, which Würth Elektronik kindly sent us. From resistors and capacitors to coils and LEDs, everything was included. Thanks to the high-quality products, our specially created circuit boards with the new parts will certainly fulfill their purpose for a very long time to come. Thank you very much!
To ensure that our robots can continue to kick the ball forward reliably and accurately and, in the best case, into the goal, UHE Feinmechanik has manufactured high-quality aluminum shafts for our kicker. Now nothing can go wrong on the pitch!
Thank you very much!
Our partners at the university
Leibniz University Hannover
The Leibniz University Hannover is the luhbot’s home. We greatly appreciate them providing working spaces, digital infrastructure and financial support. Otherwise the team luhbots could not exist. The university helps us face the challenges of modern robotics by providing a variety of technical classes for our student members. We try to satisfy the curiosity won in the classes of the different institutes as best we can.
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Leibniz University Hannover has been providing us for a few years with working spaces and financial support. Additionally, we can always find a consultant here if we have any organizational questions. Many of our students are part of the faculty, deepening our connection to this department. We broaden the faculty’s course selection, by offering two tutorials in the module General Studies and other interesting student research projects.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Leibniz University Hannover has been offering resources since the beginning of 2021 so that we can participate in RoboCup competitions. Similarily to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, we also offer tutorials and student research projects here. Additionally we represent the faculty on fairs and exhibitions.
Institute of Automatic Control
We are happy to be working with the Institute of Automatic Control. During monthly meetings we resolve important organizational topics together. Furthermore a considerable amount of the finances is processed by this institute. We especially want to thank Dr.-Ing. Torsten lilge for his exceptional support and work with us.
Institute for Mechatronic Systems
The luhbots team originated 2012 from the Institute of Mechatronic Systems. In cooperation with this institute we organize the events RoboChallenge and Hackathon where students have to solve similar tasks to the RoboCup@Work League and can exchange their knowledge. Additionally they support us financially and with their expertise in our regular Jour Fix meetings. Here we want to thank especially Vincent Modes as our contact person from the institute.
Institute for Materials Science
The Institute for materials Science assits us with with technical expertise in the field of materials as well as in thermal post-treatment of components in gas atmospheres.
Roberta RegioZentrum
We work closely together with the Roberta RegioZentrum in schooling our successors. A few of our team members work as coaches for the pupils of the Roberta RegioZentrum. They not only offer pupils to be part of their student team, but also provide programming and robotics classes in other schools. Their regional school network excites more and more pupils for robotics every year.
FIT (former MZH)
The Förderzentrum für Innovation aus der Technik (FIT) (formerly known as MZH) offers college students of the Leibniz University Hannover a possibility of pursuing a StartUp idea during their studies. The luhbots are based here organizationally and we help StartUps by sharing our know-how and our workshop capacities. Both sides benefit from this. Here we want to thank especially Marc Warnecke who always supports us and manages our resources.
roboterfabrik
The roboterfabrik was founded by the Leibniz University Hannover together with the Region Hannover and incorporated the Roberta RegioZentrum and the luhbots. The roboterfabrik is a meeting point for pupils, college students, apprentices and teachers alike. It represents the improvement of the consistent schooling in the robotics field. The transition from the i-bots into the luhbots team is facilitated by providing work spaces located in the same building.
