π Campus Mechanical Engineering (Garbsen)
Those who attended Mechanical Engineering Night at the Garbsen Campus on November 8, 2025, were treated to an exciting tour showcasing the diversity of the faculty. Between open laboratories and playful interactive stations, the spectrum ranged from wind tunnel experiments, laser engraving, and 3D printing to hydrogen research, programming collaborative robots, and drone and vehicle projects by other student teams. And, of course, there was plenty of food and drink available at the numerous food stands.
We were also represented as luhbots in the middle of this lively technology course. Our place was in the halls of the Institute for Mechatronic Systems (imes), in the immediate vicinity of other robotics exhibits such as the inverse pendulum or a mini robot workshop. For us, everything revolved around our well-known soccer robots: Visitors could see how the robots dribble, pass, and shoot. The components we brought along also offered the opportunity to explore our hardware up close. At the same time, exciting questions arose about our software, such as the colorful dots on the shells, which are used for orientation in the game. A video showing scenes from past RoboCup tournaments was played in the background, showing our robots in action.
For us, the Night of Mechanical Engineering was once again an inspiring evening where we met many technology enthusiasts, presented our project, and gained new inspiration ourselves. An all-around successful event!
