During the Easter and fall breaks, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a week of varied projects in mathematics, science, and technology. This program is part of the Gauร-AG, which is organized annually by the Leibniz School of Education at Leibniz University Hannover. The aim of the program is to give participants a practical insight beyond the usual classroom teaching and to introduce them to different disciplines: from mechanical engineering, computer science, and construction to surveying, physics, mathematics, and biology.
We were there again during the fall break and presented our robots to the young participants from grades five to seven. After an introductory theory phase, the children were able to get involved themselves: they competed directly against an autonomous robot, played robot FIFA, and were allowed to take a close look at both the hardware and the software. The enthusiasm was great and the atmosphere was excellent.
