π 21st to 23rd of March 2025
πHangar Crailsheim
π 4th Place
As the days slowly get warmer and it’s light outside for longer, it’s time for our annual trip to Crailsheim! The RoboCup Crailsheim, organized by Gerhard Schubert GmbH and the city of Crailsheim, took place there again. This competition is always a good opportunity for us to put our robots to the test independently of the big international RoboCup and to spend a weekend working intensively on hardware and software.
This year, in addition to the usual suspects from Mannheim (TIGERs Mannheim), Erlangen (ER-Force) and Enschede (Roboteam Twente), we were also able to welcome the Immortals, so there were a total of five of us in the hall. Over the course of three days, we were not only able to demonstrate our technical know-how, but also gain a lot of valuable experience and compete with the other great teams.

Three days full of technology, team spirit and exciting matches
Day 1: Arrival & preparation
Once our lab had been carefully packed and loaded into the cars, we set off on the long drive towards Crailsheim. After about six hours, we arrived at the venue, the hangar in Crailsheim. In addition to setting up the playing field and workstations, we continued to work on the game strategy and made minor repairs to the robots.

Day 2: Group games and important insights
Our two group matches were scheduled for the second day – but not until the afternoon, so that we could use the morning to fix the last bugs and watch the matches of the other teams.
Our first match was against the experienced ER-Force team from Erlangen. Despite a 3:0 defeat, we can look back on the match positively: our robots were stable, hardware failures were limited and we were able to hold our own in many duels. It was particularly pleasing that we only conceded a few fouls – a sign that our robots are becoming increasingly confident.
In the second match, we faced none other than the reigning world champions, TIGERs Mannheim. Even though the game was clearly lost 0:10, we learned a lot. It became clear which adjustments we still need to make for the next generation of our robots – especially in terms of offense, speed of play and coordination.

Day 3: The match for 4th place – our highlight!
Our last game was on the third day – the placement game against RoboTeam Twente. And what can we say? It was by far our best and most emotional match of the tournament!
Thanks to some targeted adjustments, our robots were finally able to develop their full potential: They were faster, more agile and much more present offensively. We were rewarded with a 2:0 victory, which made not only the game itself, but the entire RoboCup a highlight for us. The atmosphere on the sidelines was great, tension was in the air – the absolute βRoboCup feelingβ!
After one last look at the semi-final match, it was time to say goodbye and head back to Hanover. However, we are not only returning with a well-deserved 4th place, but above all with lots of new ideas, motivation and anticipation for the next tournament.

See you next time – at the next RoboCup in Crailsheim!
