In December our two hardware departments organized a workshop weekend for our new members!
Two workshops were held on Friday: A KiCad workshop and a CAD workshop. In the CAD workshop, we introduced members interested in mechanics to working with CAD, i.e. computer-aided design. We use Autodesk Inventor to design mechanical components for the robots, which is why it is essential to know how to use the software. In the KiCad workshop, basic knowledge of circuit board design was taught so that we could start soldering such a board directly on the second day: a flashing luhbots light. After a bit of general input with tips and tricks, we got straight down to the practical part: assembling, soldering and finally testing circuit boards!
All in all, everyone learned a lot, but there was also plenty of fun!
