📅 17th to 18th of August 2024
📍 Hannover Congress Centrum
We were able to welcome both experienced makers and those who want to become one at our stand. The Hanover Maker Faire, the second largest in the world, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and welcomed 250 exhibitors and 15,800 visitors to the Hanover Congress Centre.
Our stand was all about ‘man versus machine’! Visitors were able to compete with an autonomous robot on a small playing field. The autonomous robot took on the role of a goalkeeper, but also showed impressive skills in precise shots on goal and in clearing the ball from the corners of the pitch. Cheering was pre-programmed! Our strategy was shown on a screen next to the pitch so that you could see live what was happening in the background so that the autonomous robot could do what it was supposed to do.
We also set up a large monitor where you could play ‘luhbots The Game’. This video game for two players is reminiscent of the well-known ‘FIFA’, but here our robots competed against each other instead of human players.
For technology enthusiasts, the hardware of our robots was particularly interesting. We prepared a table with a robot without a housing and numerous self-designed and manufactured components. Next to it, a montage of cool scenes was shown on the large RoboCup playing field. In addition to the small playing field, we were also able to show what the whole thing looks like at tournaments when all our robots drive autonomously and compete against another team.
Overall, our stand was a complete success. We were able to attract many visitors and hold exciting conversations. The children in particular had great fun playing with our robots while we told their parents a bit more about the technology behind them 😉
Thanks to Vision Lasertechnik for their support during set-up and dismantling!
