This month, we had the pleasure of taking part in three very different events: the venue, target audience and what we had to offer were different at each one – and yet, in every setting, we managed to get new people excited about our topic!
Regionsentdeckertag (Regional Discovery Day)

📍 luhbots Lab (roboterfabrik)
It all kicked off with the Regional Discovery Day, where we’d set up our largest display.
Just like last year’s event, there were plenty of exciting opportunities to explore in Hanover and the surrounding region. Behind the door at roboterfabrik, alongside our football-playing robots, there were also other robots for visitors to programme themselves, VR systems and plenty of technical insights into everything to do with robotics and AI.
Our playing pitch, complete with robot FIFA and hands-on robots, was once again a fantastic way to strike up conversations with people of all ages!
Hochschulinformationstage (University Information Days)
📅 15th to 16th of September 2026
📍 Leibniz Uni Hannover (main building)
A week and a half later, we moved on to the next event. Here, we had a smaller stand at our disposal and, rather than families, it was mainly school pupils who dropped by to find out about the degree programmes on offer at Leibniz University. Every now and then, there were also a few students who were already enrolled, whom we were able to invite straight away to our kick-off event in November!
Nacht des Maschinenbaus (Night of Mechanical Engineering)

📍 Campus Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering, Garbsen)
Finally, there was the well-known and much-loved ‘Night of Mechanical Engineering’ in Garbsen, where the programme once again featured plenty of hands-on activities, experiments and insights into research at Leibniz University.
Although we didn’t have an endless amount of space at the imes premises, where our stand was located, our table was more than enough for a bit of dribbling, kicking a ball about, demonstrating gameplay and explaining things. By now, we’ve become bit of an event-organising pro, able to make the most of any setup! So neither we nor our guests at the stand got bored.
And, of course, it was great fun again this year to check out the other activities on campus, which we did enthusiastically before or after our shifts at the stand.
